Last Friday night was a very big night for our family. Rylie had her first ballet recital. She has been taking classes since August 2010 in Southaven, MS at Performing Arts Academy. She takes ballet, tap, and a tumbling class on Tuesday nights. Last week she had 2 long practices to prepare her for this night. One practice was at the studio and the other was a full dress reherseal at the recital location. Before dress reherseal she was so excited and enjoying playing with her friends but as soon as she walked up the stairs to the stage and realized how dark it was she was terrified! She performed a little later on and we still had moments here and there but by the end she was understanding more of what was happening. But her actions made me that much more anxious! I was so worried that she would not do anything on the stage or that she wouldn't even walk out to the stage. See Keith and I both have agreed that as much as we want her in other activities we want her to like for herself. I was worried that we had 17 people who purchased tickets to watch Rylie perform and instead they would be watching everyone but her perform. Well by looking at the pictures I think you can see for yourself the girl loved the stage. Even before her tap routine she slipped and fell and hit her head pretty hard. After tears and touching up her makeup and leaving her teary she still did excellent! We were so proud of her and I think she was proud of herself to!

I love all of the pix and videos. The tumbling video makes it look like she did a solo on her crab walks and forward rolls.
Sorry to hear she took a fall before her tap routine. What a trouper....just tell her Memaw fell down the steps one time in her tap shoes on the way to tap in the fair competition.
So proud of her and so glad we could be in the audience....definitely a different perspective for me!
